Mini Waffle Crunch Stitch Tutorial - Includes Video & Gauge

Today on the blog I will share a simple instruction for the mini waffle crunch stitch. For now I’m calling it the mini waffle crunch stitch, because that is (to me) what it most closely resembled in my searches to find out if anyone has done this or named it.

If you have a better name suggestion & would like to send that in please do! If not, this is what I’ve come up with & I hope you enjoy!

For this project I used 5 balls of colour made easy yarn and it worked out into a perfect toddler blanket for my 4 year old! For the written gauge tutorial & video scroll down!

For this project you will need:

  1. Hook & yarn of your choice ( I used colour made easy yarn a #5) & a 7mm hook)

  2. The yarn I used suggested a 6.5 mm hook, but I felt that the pattern would need a little more room to breathe & the larger hook size would allow me to work the stitches a bit easier by making them a little more visible.

  3. Scissors

  4. Darning Needle (optional)

  5. Colour made easy yarn

working with all even numbered rows ( I used a 12 chain start for my gauge swatch)

Each Row starts with a single crochet, and is followed by a Slip Stitch. That is the whole pattern.
